In September 2012, Dutt Lab students initiated an innovative way for lab communication with a creative monthly newsletter. Joined by Shilpee Lab, the "Shilpee & Dutt Newsletter" evolved into a vibrant chronicle of research updates, resource rosters for cells, reagents, etc., celebrating milestones and personal life events. A standout feature was the "interview section" and the coveted "cover page" presentation. Each month, a member's story unfolded in a kaleidoscope of questions—aspirations, hobbies, life-changing moments—offering a window into the fascinating individuals behind the research. Similarly, members from both labs vied for the honour of showcasing their research image or creative masterpiece on the cover. Entirely volunteer-run, this newsletter fostered a scientific family, boosting confidence and collaboration. Now, with over 140 editions, Akshita Chaudhary has curated its most creative aspects (an abridged and shortened version of each edition) into a proud compendium, offering a unique glimpse into the life of a professional research lab.
